Ho lasciato il mio paese

A message to Italians, words pronounced hesitantly but no less clearly and directly for that.

When Amadou decided to record a song in Italian, he wrote the words down, choosing them and studying them one by one, because he had important things to say.

I left my country because they wanted to kill me. He wants to clarify that Italy is a rather random point of arrival, a consequence of very difficult situations. The journey has not damaged his dignity (I am African, proud to be black), and not his courtesy either (I am grateful to everyone who has helped me). But he leaves us with a bitter reminder on which to reflect: there are wars, there are too many wars.
